When did you know that this career was what you wanted to do?
After graduating with a bachelor’s in Information Technology in 2015, I started working at an IT firm named Seclore. My job was client-facing. I loved solving their problems and focused on managing the stakeholders. Sooner, I realized I enjoy writing case studies and KB articles and giving intuitive solutions for client-point problems. I explored a master’s program in Human-Computer Interaction, did an M.A. degree, and became a UX designer.
What’s your dream project?
Working on solving problems in real life or, to be precise, on day-to-day activities. The biggest challenge I see in the world is social anxiety, FOMO, or life without phones. I want to solve those issues that affect people. I’ve suffered from anxiety and mental illness, which has caused me a lot of trouble in my personal space. I want to work on those areas where people feel safe sharing those talks and where the world can be a better place to live.
How do you stay up-to-date in your industry?
When I moved from India, my biggest challenge was to communicate in English, and to overcome that, I started constantly keeping myself out of my comfort zone, hence volunteering and engaging in speaking events, hackathons, and paper presentations. I knew that the industry is fast-paced and continually evolving in approaches, tools, platforms, and available technologies. So, these events helped me learn more and more. After starting to work with Citibank, I realized I could be more than a designer. I started mentoring on ADPlist and got good attention, which allowed me to be invited to many events and judge UX hackathons. Learning from those projects and events helped me improve and stay up to the trend. I also write on Linkedin and have a creator’s community to keep me up in my game.
How would you describe your style?
My conversational style is direct, efficient, and adaptable. I aim to provide concise, relevant answers tailored to the user’s needs while offering more detailed explanations when necessary. I engage intellectually on a wide range of topics, break down complex problems systematically, and adjust my tone and level of detail based on the context. I aim to be helpful and informative without unnecessary verbosity, balancing thoroughness and efficiency.
What categories are you looking forward to reviewing for the Davey Awards?
I’m particularly excited to review this year’s UX and UI Design categories. As a designer, I’m always eager to see innovative user experience and interface design approaches. The Product Design category also promises to be interesting, but I’m looking forward to seeing how entrants have pushed the boundaries in creating intuitive, engaging digital experiences.
When you submit your work into the Davey Awards, it lands on the desks of AIVA Jurors like Tina. The Extended Entry Deadline is quickly approaching on September 13th. Enter now before time runs out.
